Chinese agriculture researchers visit IAMO

Stephan Brosig, Lena Kuhn, Florian Schierhorn and Zhanli Sun welcomed a group of Chinese agriculture scientists to IAMO.
The nine-member team of Shihezi University from the northwest Chinese province of Xiniang showed a lively interest in the work of IAMO, especially the research approaches for the estimation of food production potentials, which were presented using the example of Russia. The group talked about research organization in Germany and China and the differences between Universities and non-university research institutes. The visit was amiable, with thanks for the organizers. In addition, members of the China International Research Group were invited for a return visit. The Shihezi University is a young institution and belongs to the group of “National Key Universities” of China. About 40000 students from over 30 provinces and regions come to Shihezi to study agriculture science, medical studies or law.
