RCRE delegation visits IAMO

On September 9 and 10, IAMO received a visit from a prominent delegation from the Research Center for Rural Economics (RCRE), a research institution of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) of the People's Republic of China. The RCRE advises the Ministry of Agriculture on a wide range of agricultural policy issues and, in this capacity, exerts a significant influence on the country's agricultural policy.
During the visit, the delegation led by agricultural historian Prof. Ou WANG exchanged views with IAMO Director Thomas Glauben and a group of researchers from various research regions and fields in order to identify topics for increased research cooperation and to discuss the challenges of rural development in both countries. The visit, organized by the coordinator of the China Research Group, Lena Kuhn, also included visits to various farms in the area surrounding Halle. In particular, these visits provided an understanding of the challenges of sustainable agricultural development. Following the fruitful exchange, the interest in intensified research cooperation between the two sides was expressed.
