Wake up "Boiling Frogs": Research on Animal Husbandry under Climate Change in Northern China
08 August 2018
Climate change has adversely impacted on grasslands and local households, particularly in arid and semi-arid regions. Therefore, there is an urgent need for international and interdisciplinary research to explore the impact of climate change on steppes and how local farmers could adapt to such multiple crises. Taking Inner Mongolia in Northern China as an example for this research project, we aim to figure out the herders’ behaviour pattern in response to climate change. Policy recommendations will be developed to encourage herders to adapt their behaviour in ways to enhance sustainability.
